While india is struggling for its oil/gas needs, ethanol seems to be clean alternative. Instead of using the ethanol in the right way, it is getting routed into alcholic beverage production and govt is also happy with the alchohol sales. So the short sighted governments are losing two ways a) loss of public health b) importing fuel for high prices.
Brazil should be a role model for us in this aspect.
