Whistle for Change, calls Lok Satta

The Lok Satta Party is deftly utilizing the by-elections to remind voters that they are sovereign and they can change the future of their lives and the country by exercising their franchise.

The party believes that most of the people are fed up with political corruption, inequity and injustice and bad governance. They have changed governments in the past but have not experienced any change in their lives. The players on the political scene have changed but not the political culture. As a result, the people have become cynical. The Lok Satta Party, which is pledged to ushering in a new political culture, calls upon people to use the party as a platform to realize their hopes and aspirations. The party believes that provision of free and quality healthcare and education and job-oriented skills alone will bring about a transformation in people’s lives.

The party has chosen young and highly educated professionals and entrepreneurs as its candidates in all the four constituencies going to polls – Khairatabad, Musheerabad, Secunderabad and Terlam. Party cadres had chosen them by consensus, impressed by their track record of service to society. The party did not look into their pedigree, money power or muscle power or even their caste when it opted for them.

With the election date drawing nearer, all the party candidates are engaged in a door-to-door campaign. Their main focus is on the youth, the middle classes and women all of whom feel let down in the present system and who are thirsting for an alternative.

They call upon voters to exercise their franchise without succumbing to liquor or money. Politicians of traditional parties have been perpetuating their dynasties only with their consent. “If you stop patronizing them, their citadels of power will crumble.”

The Lok Satta Party candidates carry on their campaign without any pomp or show. You don’t find huge party banners or cutouts of leaders or a cavalcade of cars anywhere. Lok Satta Party President Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan undertakes road-shows in support of party candidates. His simple message is: A vote is much more powerful than a gun or a pen. Use it and unveil a new chapter in Indian politics.

The by-elections are not going to result in a change in government or in policies. But they provide an opportunity to the people to demonstrate that they have had enough of traditional parties. The Lok Satta hopes to become their lodestar.(Whistle is the election symbol of Lok Satta Party candidates).

I sincerely appreciate Mr.JP 's work towards clean administration.Observing loksatta very closely and was associated with it when it was an N.G.O Foundation in Alwal Area,My feedback is listed below:

1.Mr.JP has become the FACE of Loksatta ushering in another FACE CULT political system.Who are the other team who do not come forward

2.May102008 visit to alwal , feedback done by me was sent Mr.Srinivas Katari,He is yet to see his mail and respond[as on date 23.5.08]

3.Loksatta claims it is targeting the middle class and still uses age old campaigning style.Getting associated with unruly elements of other opposition or non contesting parties will send a wrong message to the voter.

    4. Middle class and elite who usually do not come out to vote use INTERNET on daily basis.

5.Except Terlam , Khairtabad, Secunderabad and Mushirabad are Cosmopolitan areas where lot of out station settlers are there and here the campaign is done in TELUGU only which is major setback to all its efforts .Come on grow up sirs English is the language of the Middle class , please spare some space to ENGLISH too.

6.There is a lack of campaign promotion and positioning strategy , its still outdated

7.People who do not get seats or recognition in other parties jump to loksatta this is the silent feedback from most areas.

8.Issues addressed by loksatta is Belt shops but campaign does not mention - a.Auto driver menace b.Building penalisation scheme c.Jobs for local educated youth etc

9.Last but not the least the most important sociological entity is the Middle Class Housewife ,none of her issues are addressed ,so do you think with all this on 29.5.08 people will come out to support LOKSATTA

    THINK!!!

  2. WHERE ARE ALL THE GOOD MEN GONE?

While the irresponsibilty is ridingh high among the people of our country JP's vision for a new chapter in Indian politics is a cause which is to be supported,by ever one..But our people have lost their spirits which were maintained by our previous generations for the want of freedom.Everyone started saying that they can do nothing about the current politics not realising the fact that they have a powerful weapon called Vote which our forefathers have not had at that time to win freedom. We are in much comfortable zone in carrying out new freedom fight via Vote,Our fellow citizen are not even ready to stand for a hour while our forefathers stood whole of their life for freedom....My dear fellow men who are in down spirts please realize that now is the time to carry out the real freedom fight for Us and for our future generation...Dont make our further generations feel that we are cowards in fighting for real freedom which our forefathers have dreamt of..Jai Hind.
